Full description from the employer

insiderOne is building the Career OS and Hiring OS where people prove their skills and companies hire based on proof.

We believe skills should be proven, not just claimed.

Today, careers are scattered across resumes, certificates, portfolios, job boards and different online profiles. Candidates struggle to show what they can actually do, while companies still spend enormous amounts of time trying to figure out who genuinely has the right skills.

insiderOne brings both sides together.

For individuals, insiderOne helps people understand their career path, identify skill gaps, build proof of what they can do, prepare for opportunities and discover relevant jobs.

For employers, insiderOne helps companies discover talent based on evidence rather than simply relying on resumes and claims.

At the centre of the platform is ZENOR-Æ, our career intelligence engine. On the employer side, SCOUT helps companies discover relevant talent, while VERA helps bring greater confidence to candidate information.

We're building a world where:

What you can actually do matters more than how well you can describe it.

The role

We're looking for someone who can own the entire marketing function.

Not manage one small part of it.

Not just run ads.

Not just make LinkedIn posts.

Not just tell us what the marketing team should do.

We want a marketing operator, brand builder, storyteller, content creator and growth thinker in one person.

Someone who can look at insiderOne, understand what we're building and ask:

How do we make people care about this?

Then actually go and make it happen.

This person should be capable of functioning as a one-person marketing department in the early stage of the company — setting the positioning, shaping the narrative, creating content, building attention, experimenting with distribution and orchestrating campaigns from idea to execution.

You should understand that marketing isn't just about getting views.

It's about making sure the right people remember what you stand for.

We don't want generic startup marketing.

We don't want 20 posts saying “We are excited to announce…”

We don't want a calendar full of content that gets likes but builds no brand.

We want someone who can help answer questions like:

  • What should people think when they hear insiderOne?

  • What conversation should we own?

  • What should our voice sound like?

  • How do we make the idea of a proof-driven career impossible to ignore?

  • How do we turn product features into stories people actually want to share?

  • How do we get candidates, recruiters, companies, universities and the wider internet talking about us?

  • How do we create moments that bring attention to the company?

Your job will be to figure out the narrative and push it into the world.

What you'll own

Brand positioning & narrative

You will help define how insiderOne presents itself to the world.

That includes:

  • Sharpening our brand positioning.

  • Helping define the stories and ideas we want to own.

  • Creating strong narratives around the problems we're solving.

  • Turning complex product capabilities into simple, memorable messages.

  • Identifying opportunities for bold campaigns and conversations.

  • Ensuring our messaging stays consistent across social media, campaigns, partnerships, product launches and public communication.

  • Understanding when to be informative, when to be entertaining and when to be provocative.

You should be able to take something like:

“A platform where candidates can show proof of their skills.”

…and turn it into something people actually stop scrolling for.

Social media & content

You should have a serious understanding of social media, not just theoretical knowledge.

We strongly prefer someone who has already built their own presence.

Ideally:

  • 30,000+ followers on Instagram, or a demonstrably strong and active audience.

  • A meaningful LinkedIn audience with a track record of generating 50,000+ impressions on posts consistently or frequently, along with strong engagement.

  • Experience understanding what makes content travel across different platforms.

  • A portfolio of posts, videos, reels or campaigns that you can point to and say: “I made that happen.”

We want someone who understands the difference between creating content for:

  • Instagram

  • LinkedIn

  • X

  • YouTube

  • Short-form video

  • Founder-led content

  • Company-led content

You should know that the same post does not belong everywhere.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building and managing insiderOne's social media presence.

  • Developing content strategies across relevant platforms.

  • Creating and publishing posts, carousels, videos, reels and other content formats.

  • Writing copy that sounds human and has a point of view.

  • Identifying trends worth participating in — and ignoring the ones that aren't.

  • Building founder-led content and helping turn internal ideas into public conversations.

  • Experimenting with new formats, hooks and distribution strategies.

  • Growing reach, engagement, awareness and audience quality.

  • Turning product updates into stories people want to pay attention to.

Yes, you should be comfortable being on camera when needed.

You should also be comfortable directing someone else, interviewing people, going outside to shoot content, talking to strangers or doing whatever the campaign requires.

Campaigns & attention

You should be able to take a blank page and create a campaign.

For example:

Idea → Narrative → Hook → Content → Distribution → Partnerships → Conversation → Results

You should be capable of orchestrating the entire process.

That could involve:

  • Organic campaigns.

  • Social experiments.

  • Product launches.

  • Community campaigns.

  • Creator collaborations.

  • Campus campaigns.

  • PR-worthy moments.

  • Brand stunts.

  • Partnerships.

  • Events.

  • Founder-led campaigns.

  • User-generated content.

  • Growth experiments.

You don't need permission to think beyond a social media calendar.

In fact, we expect you to.

Marketing orchestration

You may initially be a one-person team, but that doesn't mean you have to physically do every single thing forever.

You should know how to orchestrate marketing.

That means understanding when to:

  • Create something yourself.

  • Use AI.

  • Brief a designer.

  • Work with a video editor.

  • Bring in a freelancer.

  • Collaborate with creators.

  • Coordinate an agency.

  • Build a campaign team.

  • Automate repetitive work.

You should be capable of getting an entire marketing machine moving, even when you don't have a large team under you.

Eventually, you'll play a major role in helping build the wider marketing function.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone with strong marketing instincts and an even stronger bias toward execution.

You should ideally have:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in marketing, brand, growth, content or a closely related role.

  • A proven track record of building an audience, brand or community.

  • A strong personal presence on social media.

  • At least 30,000+ followers on Instagram or equivalent demonstrated audience-building ability.

  • A strong LinkedIn presence with a history of generating meaningful reach, ideally 50,000+ impressions on posts and strong engagement.

  • Experience creating content yourself, not only managing agencies or teams.

  • The ability to shoot or direct short-form video and create engaging Reels.

  • Excellent storytelling and copywriting skills.

  • Strong understanding of brand positioning and messaging.

  • The confidence to put forward ideas that may be unconventional.

  • Comfort being visible, speaking to people and representing a brand publicly.

  • Strong instincts around what people will actually pay attention to.

  • The ability to move quickly without waiting for every detail to be perfect.

Most importantly:

You should have proof.

Don't just tell us you're good at marketing.

Show us the audience you've built.

Show us the content you've created.

Show us the campaigns you've run.

Show us what happened.

This role is probably not for you if

  • Your marketing experience is limited to scheduling posts from a content calendar.

  • You need a designer, copywriter, strategist, videographer and agency before you can start executing an idea.

  • You are uncomfortable putting yourself or your ideas out publicly.

  • You avoid experimentation because something might not work.

  • You only know marketing from courses and certifications but have little evidence of actual execution.

  • You believe more content automatically means better marketing.

  • You are looking for a highly structured role with a fixed list of responsibilities.

  • You expect an existing marketing department to tell you exactly what to do.

Why join insiderOne?

This is an opportunity to shape the public identity of a company from an early stage.

You won't be joining a large company where the brand guidelines, messaging, campaigns and approval processes have already been decided.

You'll have the opportunity to help build them.

You'll work closely with the Founder and have significant ownership over how insiderOne:

  • Positions itself.

  • Talks about its product.

  • Builds attention.

  • Creates campaigns.

  • Develops its public voice.

  • Builds communities.

  • Reaches candidates.

  • Reaches employers.

  • Creates conversations around the future of careers and hiring.

If you're good, the impact of your work will be extremely visible.

And as the company grows, this role can grow into leading the broader Brand, Marketing and Growth function at insiderOne.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just want to join a marketing department.

We want someone who is capable of building one.
