Sequenced, not surveyed.
Every career quiz gives you a type. Career DNA builds a genome: every interest, trait and skill carries an estimate, an interval that narrows as independent evidence agrees, and a record of how it was read. It is read from what you have proved, not only from what you say about yourself.
What is Career DNA?
Career DNA is insiderOne's proprietary profile of a person's interests, traits, values and skills, built from evidence rather than a questionnaire alone. Every reading carries an estimate and an interval, self-reported answers are structurally capped so they can never read as strongly as demonstrated work, and the profile tells you the cheapest next piece of evidence that would sharpen it. It exports as a signed, portable credential.
Named mechanisms, not adjectives.
Every one of these is implemented and can be pointed at. On a product whose pitch is that claims get checked, the description of it cannot be the one place that is not.
Every number has an interval
Nothing is printed as a point. A wide interval says the reading is provisional; a narrow one says several independent sources agree. No percentile is shown, because short scales cannot honestly support one.
Saying it is capped. Showing it is not.
Self-reported answers can only narrow a reading so far. Beyond that limit, only demonstrated work, produced artifacts, credentials or independent vouches can sharpen it. Ten self-descriptions cannot make an Expert. One live pass can.
Readings age honestly
A skill demonstrated four years ago is weaker evidence about today than one demonstrated last month. Older readings widen their interval rather than silently going stale or quietly moving the estimate.
Repeats from one source are discounted
Five readings from the same source are not five times the evidence. The genome keys every reading by where it came from and gives a repeat a fraction of the weight of a new, independent one.
It tells you the cheapest next proof
The genome ranks what would sharpen it most per minute of your time, so the next step is a specific twenty-minute simulation or an artifact you already have, never a longer questionnaire.
It notices careless answers
Straight-lining and contradictory answers to paired items are detected. A careless burst is still recorded, but at a fraction of its weight, so it can inform without distorting.
Grounded in public-domain science, described honestly
Interest items follow the Holland RIASEC structure with original wording. Trait items use the public-domain Mini-IPIP Big Five markers. Career DNA is indicative, not a validated diagnostic instrument, and it says so.
A signed, portable credential
Your genome exports as a signed credential that carries the estimates and intervals but not your raw answers. It can be verified without disclosing the evidence behind it.
In practice.
- A profile that gets sharper as you prove things, instead of a type you got assigned once.
- You always know the single cheapest action that would make it more accurate.
- Employers see fit with the uncertainty shown, so a provisional reading is never mistaken for a verdict.
- It is yours, signed and portable, and it never asks you to retake a quiz to stay current.

Questions, answered.
Is Career DNA a personality test?
No. It uses public-domain interest and trait items as one of several kinds of evidence, but a personality test returns a type from your answers alone. Career DNA returns estimates with intervals and reads demonstrated work, artifacts and vouches alongside what you say, with what you say structurally capped.
How long does it take?
A first read is twelve quick items, about two minutes. From there it sharpens as your evidence grows and tells you the cheapest next step. It is designed to compound over months, not to be finished in an afternoon.
Is Career DNA a validated diagnostic instrument?
No, and it does not claim to be. The item banks follow established public-domain structures, but insiderOne has not run its own validation study. Career DNA is indicative, every reading shows its uncertainty, and no percentile is displayed because the scales cannot support one.
What is the patent status of Career DNA?
The method is proprietary to insiderOne Technologies. Patent filings are in preparation.
