Summary: We are looking for a highly social-first Assistant Manager, Social Media to support the development and execution of content across key social channels and personality-led platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely lives and breathes social media and understands the space from both a brand and creator perspective. They should have a strong understanding of influencer and creator behavior, know what is happening across social culture, and be able to identify the formats, conversations, and creative opportunities that feel relevant right now.

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking creative direction and broader vision and translating it into strong, executable social plans. They should be confident taking an idea from initial direction through to delivery, working independently, managing multiple stakeholders, and ensuring projects continue moving with minimal oversight.

This person should combine strong creative instincts with excellent organization and execution. They should be comfortable bringing forward new ideas and recommendations, while also being highly collaborative and able to take direction without needing to own every creative decision.

The work

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of social media strategies and content across key social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging channels.
• Translate creative direction and broader vision into clear, actionable social plans, content ideas and executions.
• Take ownership of projects from concept through to delivery, including planning, briefing, coordinating shoots, managing edits, approvals and publishing.
• Develop compelling, social-first content that builds audience connection, engagement, and long-term channel growth.
• Have a strong understanding of personality-led and creator-led social media, including how individuals build relevance, community and a distinctive presence online.
• Identify opportunities to continually elevate social channels through new formats, content pillars, recurring content, and platform behaviors.
• Stay extremely close to social media culture, influencer behavior, emerging creators, trends, formats, audios, and conversations.
• Understand why certain creator content performs and translates relevant behaviors or formats into ideas that feel authentic to the channels being managed.
• Develop original social concepts and regularly bring forward culturally relevant references, creative ideas and opportunities.
• Support the development of short-form content across a range of topics, including lifestyle, wellness, self-development, feel-good and purpose-led storytelling.
• Understand how to make meaningful or informative subject matter engaging, accessible and relevant within short-form social formats.
• Work closely with creative, production, editing and wider cross-functional teams to ensure content is delivered to a high standard and remains true to the original creative direction.
• Create clear briefs, references, shot lists and feedback to guide content development and post-production.
• Build and manage social content calendars, timelines, and project plans to ensure content is developed and delivered on time.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously within a fast-paced social environment.
• Proactively identify blockers, find solutions, and keep projects moving without requiring constant oversight.
• Stay up to date with platform developments, social trends, and best practices to identify new opportunities for the channels.
• Monitor content performance and work with relevant teams to understand key learnings and optimize future content.
• Use both creative instinct and performance insights to continually strengthen social output.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience within social media, content, creator marketing or a related field.
• Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and wider social media culture.
• Strong understanding of influencer and creator behavior and how successful creators build audiences and communities.
• Experience working across personality-led, creator-led, lifestyle, beauty, wellness or culturally relevant social content is preferred.
• Strong creative instincts with the ability to identify what feels current, relevant, and social-first.
• Ability to turn an initial idea or creative direction into a clear plan and successfully execute it.
• Excellent project management, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make progress without requiring constant direction.
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities at once.
• Strong understanding of short-form content, including hooks, pacing, storytelling, engagement, and audience retention.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to brief creative teams and provide clear, actionable feedback.
• Naturally proactive, resourceful and solutions focused.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards for execution.
• Creative and confident in bringing forward ideas, while remaining collaborative, adaptable, and receptive to direction and feedback.
• Strong understanding of social media performance metrics and how insights can be used to improve future content.
• Genuine passion for social media, internet culture and understanding what audiences are watching, sharing and talking about.
