VOIS is hiring for the role of Apprentice – Network Monitoring Engineer!
The work
•
Monitor customer networks and network elements within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
•
Perform initial fault diagnosis and validate network alarms.
•
Report service-impacting incidents to customers and internal stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
•
Create and manage trouble tickets for investigation and resolution by specialist teams.
•
Work closely with technical support teams, incident management teams, service desks and first-line support functions.
•
Maintain operational excellence to support network availability and minimise service downtime.
•
Ensure accurate communication of faults and associated customer impact.
•
Contribute to continuous process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
•
Participate in a 24x7 shift environment to support business and customer requirements.
•
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer service delivery.
Who they want
•
Engineering degree or Engineering Diploma.
•
Basic networking knowledge, including OSI Model, TCP/IP Suite, and basic Routing and Switching.
•
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, internet browsers, Microsoft Office applications and email applications.
•
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
•
Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to learning.
•
CCNA certification.
•
Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Networking.
•
Approximately one year of experience within an ISP, telecom, managed services or Network Operations Centre (NOC) environment.
•
Experience working in a networking or managed service environment.
