What you'll do

• Analyze existing test bench commissioning processes using value stream analysis to identify media discontinuities and manual activities.
• Derive optimization potentials for test bench commissioning processes.
• Evaluate low-code and no-code technologies for digitalizing engineering workflows, considering scalability, maintainability, and user-friendliness.
• Design and develop a digital workflow solution for task planning, execution, evaluation, and documentation in commissioning.
• Automate data and information flows between engineering systems, test bench networks, and analysis tools.
• Develop intuitive dashboards and automated status/release overviews for transparent commissioning progress tracking.
• Validate the developed solution in a real laboratory environment.
• Derive further optimization measures based on user feedback.
• Collaborate closely with test bench development and software development specialists.

Requirements

What they're looking for

• Knowledge in software development and data modeling with Python or C#.
• Basic understanding of modern web and cloud applications.
• Affinity for process digitalization and workflow automation.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), databases, SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, or comparable automation solutions.
• Foundational knowledge in Lean Management or process analysis.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Works independently and structured.
• Demonstrates initiative, team spirit, and hands-on mentality.
• Communicates confidently in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Develops creative, practical, and user-oriented solutions.
• On-site presence is required, supplemented by flexible work in a lab environment.
• Negotiation-level German.

Qualifications

What you'll need

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Software Engineering, Technical Computer Science, or similar.
• Matriculation at a university for the duration of the thesis.
