The work

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include

  • Building responsive, user-facing features with React/Next.js and TypeScript, and turning Figma designs into clean, reusable components
  • Developing REST APIs and backend services in Node.js/Express, including authentication, input validation and error handling
  • Designing database schemas, writing efficient queries and managing migrations in PostgreSQL/ MongoDB
  • Connecting the frontend to backend APIs and third-party services (payments, email, analytics)
  • Packaging applications with Docker and setting up CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
  • Deploying, monitoring and maintaining services on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS), including logs, uptime and basic security
  • Writing unit and integration tests, debugging production issues and fixing bugs
  • Using Claude AI to speed up coding, debugging, code review and documentation, while reviewing and understanding every change before it ships
  • Taking part in code reviews, daily stand-ups and weekly sprint planning
  • Writing clear documentation for features, APIs and deployment steps
  • Rotating across frontend, backend and DevOps work to own real features end to end, from design to production
