About the role

About the Position We are looking for an Audio/Video (AV) Engineer with a strong background in project delivery to design, implement and support our growing AV/UC infrastructure. Technology is a key component of Jane Street’s core business, and our AV needs are evolving as we grow. In this role, you will be responsible for all AV systems, collaboration platforms and videoconferencing services, including complex event spaces (~300-person auditoriums), standard meeting rooms (4-50 person capacity), trading floor communication systems, live event support and digital signage/IPTV networks. The ideal person for the role will be passionate about the AV technology space and eager to help solve issues by researching, testing and implementing creative, appropriate technology solutions in a fast-paced financial environment. The scope of this role is broad, and we will rely on you to serve as a subject-matter expert in AV systems—from maintaining and supporting our existing technologies, to developing design standards for new and expanding spaces, as well as sourcing and managing MSP contracts to scale operations. You’ll be expected to provide exceptional technical support, whether during a field installation or while troubleshooting directly with end users. You will also coordinate closely with our Technology and Infrastructure teams during expansion projects to ensure the infrastructure needs of each project are met. You should be passionate about audio/visual technology and eager to solve business problems by researching, testing, and implementing reliable, flexible systems. Beyond the project ownership and delivery, this role will be essential in continuing to develop our operations and systems in the region. We would expect the person in this role to have a strategic perspective on an AV/UC organization. About You • Have a deep, broad understanding of enterprise AV and all its facets, including control systems, DSPs, AVoIP, AoIP, digital signage/IPTV and Cisco VC solutions; ideally, you’ve helped design and manage a similar environment • Experience with scaling process and systems within an enterprise environment (both AV systems and operational systems) • Have exceptional AV engineering skills and experience with designing and supporting AV-heavy spaces such as meeting rooms, classrooms, auditoriums/lecture halls and recreation spaces • Able to multitask and manage multiple projects with competing priorities that vary in scale and complexity. • Possess a track record of project delivery, from concept phase to client handover. • Experience using project management tools like Jira, Autodesk Forma. • Familiar with the stages of both general contractor-led build projects and design-build projects, and have successfully held vendors accountable to performance standards on large-scale projects • Have an understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., VLANs, subnetting, basic routing) • Able to present technical concepts to both engineers and business stakeholders, as well as leverage data and industry insights to help drive our strategy • Comfortable assisting with the technical production and hands-on support of events, and able to provide excellent in-person and remote support with tools like Zoom and Webex • Willing and able to travel to other offices as needed • Fluent in English If you're a recruiting agency and want to partner with us, please reach out to agency-partnerships@janestreet.com.
