What it tests

Every question is written to stay inside Local AI Models itself, not a neighbouring subject or management.

The brief our question writer works from

Running open language models on one's own laptop at beginner level: reading RAM, disk and graphics memory and choosing a model size that fits, what quantisation trades away, installing a local model runner and keeping a model offline, reading an open model's licence for commercial limits, testing a model in an Indian language with questions whose answers are known, document question answering by retrieval and checking each answer against the source line, calling a local model over a localhost API from curl or a short script and reading its JSON reply, loading model files only from trusted sources, freeing disk space, and deciding when private material must stay local and when a cloud tool suits better. Real experience shows in catching a confident wrong answer, choosing a small model for a small machine, and refusing to send private files to a cloud provider. Test judgement, not menus, model names, file sizes, prices or version numbers. Often confused with cloud chat tools or with training a model.

Written questions give you something concrete to look at. That might be a short code snippet, a few numbers, a two-line message or a short situation.

How it works

  1. 1. Pick where to start

Say whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced. That only sets the first question. The rest adjust to your answers.

  2. 2. Answer 3 to 6 questions

Answer well and the next one gets harder. Miss and it gets easier. Most people finish in 3 or 4 questions.

  3. 3. Two kinds of question

Multiple choice gives you 75 seconds. A short written answer gives you 3 to 5 minutes, and a clock is always shown.

  4. 4. Pass and get your level

You pass with a score of 55 or more out of 100, the average of the answers that count. Your level is the hardest rung with at least two correct answers at it or above. A written answer is correct at 65 or more.

  • Foundational

Real basics, shown live. Build more proof to climb higher.

  • Practitioner

Solid working skill, confirmed under rising difficulty.

  • Expert

Held up at the hardest rung, including at least two correct written answers.

About 10 minutes. You answer 3 to 6 questions, with 75 seconds for a multiple choice and 3 to 5 minutes for a written answer.
