The work

Responsibilities of the Candidate

  • Gain and maintain knowledge of monitoring complex systems and responding to known and emerging threats via intrusion detection software.
  • Assist in detailed, comprehensive investigations of security issues by reviewing security log data and triaging a wide variety of security events.
  • Perform incident handling, containment, protection, and remediation activities under close supervision.
  • Design and configure security systems (such as proxy, remote access, mail gateway, intrusion prevention, SIEM, and WAF) under supervision.
  • Follow documented investigation playbooks, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and escalate genuine security incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Info Security, or a related field (or relevant work experience).
  • Strong interest in cybersecurity with a focus on Security Operations Centers (SOC), incident response, malware analysis, and SIEM.
  • Understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, common attack vectors, and familiarity with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls).
  • Bonus: Entry-level certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH, ISC2 CC, etc.), SIEM exposure, or hands-on home lab/CTF experience.
