The 2027 TACTIC (Trading, Algorithmic Computing, & Theory Internship Class) Programme

Our trading teams are hiring aspiring quantitative traders/researchers for internships in Summer 2027 (open exclusively to penultimate-year or final-year students).

This year, we are excited to launch a brand-new rotational internship programme: TACTIC (Trading, Algorithmic Computing, & Theory Internship Class). As part of our inaugural class, you’ll have a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of quantitative trading, learning directly from experienced traders and gaining hands-on exposure to different teams, strategies, and approaches.

The work

As part of this program, you will

• Join a Collaborative Cohort: Kick off your internship with two weeks of structured learning alongside your fellow interns, connecting directly with leaders and teams across Tower to build a strong foundational understanding of quantitative finance and our global platform.
• Rotate Across Two Trading Teams: Gain hands-on experience with two distinct trading teams, exploring Tower’s diverse strategies and trading approaches, and how they fit into firm-wide operations.

The work

Responsibilities

• Working in your assigned trading teams to assist in the design, implementation, and deployment of high- or mid-frequency trading algorithms.
• Working closely with dedicated mentors across both team rotations to research, refine, and enhance existing trading strategies.
• Exploring new trading ideas through in-depth analysis of financial market data.
• Creating tools to analyze complex data sets for patterns and signal identification.
• Contributing to core libraries of analytical computations to support market data analysis and trading execution.

Who they want

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, and/or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Financial Engineering, or related quantitative fields (Penultimate-year students only).
• Strong background in Python and/or C++.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Passion for exploring new technologies, quantitative ideas, and financial markets.
• Ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an eagerness to learn in a cohort-based setting.
