What you will be able to do

  • Design a small set of tables with keys and constraints that reject bad rows
  • Write filters that handle NULL correctly and return the same rows every time
  • Group and join tables without double counting, and find what is missing with an anti-join
  • Break a hard question into CTEs and answer ranking and month-on-month questions with window functions
  • Change live data inside a transaction, checking the row count before you commit
  • Read a query plan and say whether an index can help

Students and freshers preparing for the SQL round of a data analyst or software internship, and anyone who can write SELECT but does not yet trust the numbers it returns.

For each of the six questions, the SQL you wrote, the result it returns, and one or two sentences on what you checked or what the answer means, ending with a short note to the manager on what the dashboard got wrong.

Questions

What does it cost?

Nothing while insiderOne is in beta.

Can an employer check it?

Yes. Every certificate has its own page, and the code printed on it resolves there without anyone needing an account.

Do I need any experience?

No. These are written for students and people in their first job, and they assume nothing.

What do I actually walk away with?

The certificate, and the piece of work you made for the project. That goes into your insiderOne profile as a proof item, private until you choose to show it.

Know someone studying this?

It is free while insiderOne is in beta, and the certificate is checkable by anyone they send it to.
