The work

Responsibilities of the Candidate

• Primary responsibility of this role is NF & NT projects of Bussmann UL products that will penetrate the national and international markets.
• Ensure product compliance to global design standards like UL, IEC, NEMA or any other compliance standard.
• Has the good understanding best design standard practices and design requirements.
• Support system / component sizing, derating, simulation and testing activities to meet required performance of Fuses and Fusible Switches.
• Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement through Change Management process.
• Work in multiple programs/projects related to NPI and NTI projects to achieve business goals and Profit Plan objectives.
• Own end to end projects and deliverables including product conceptualization, detailing, design validation & testing of products.
• Work in a cross functional / multi-disciplinary team in making technology / engineering decisions required for project execution.
• Designs, validates and releases system, sub-system and components independently as well as through team of engineers.
• Creates CAD drawings - detailing, 3D models, Assemblies etc. and ensure release in PLM / ERP system per project plan.
• Contribute to create test plans in accordance with IEC, UL standards. Create test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test procedures & instrumentation. Responsible for conducting tests by ensuring deployment of standard practices.
• Contribute with leads to Create Intellectual Property documents (IPs) around new product design concepts / ideas.

• BE / MTech - Mechanical Engineering.
• 0-3 yrs. Product Design.
• Have a good technical knowledge and experience in design and development of Mechanical products like sheet metal products, cast / machined products, plastic products and relevant design practices and standards.
• Experience hands on experience in creating part detailing and designing, drawing creation, 3D modeling of parts/assemblies and 2D dimensioning and tolerance of parts, prototyping and validation.
• Analytical skills must include design / selection, stresses, fatigue life, component fit and establish functional / ergonomic methods of assembly. Design calculations.
• Should be aware with GD&T, DFMEA, DFMA.
• Should have good knowledge on different product design tools environment like CAD, Solid works, SAP.
• Understanding of Fusible products would be an added advantage.
