Wabtec is hiring for the role of Embedded Software Engineer Specialist!

The work

Responsibilities of the Candidate

  • Develop, modify, test, and debug embedded software in C/C++ based on defined requirements for railway train control and onboard equipment.
  • Contribute to software design, unit testing, integration, verification, and documentation activities.
  • Analyze and resolve routine software problems, participate in technical reviews, and ensure requirements traceability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional software, systems, hardware, and validation teams while following quality and configuration-management processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of software development experience in embedded systems.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in C and/or C++, with an understanding of embedded software concepts (memory, interrupts, concurrency, hardware/software interfaces).
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix or an RTOS, along with version control, debugging, and unit testing familiarity.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
