Role Summary

Build and enhance software applications for manufacturing and industrial environments. Work across backend, APIs, frontend, and database layers while developing strong software engineering and problem-solving skills.

This role provides an opportunity to work with both legacy and modern technologies, contributing to ongoing platform modernization and migration.

The work

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain applications using C#, .NET, .NET Core, SQL, and React.
  • Build and consume REST APIs and understand web application architecture.
  • Work with relational databases and write SQL queries for application functionality and data retrieval.
  • Develop and maintain frontend functionality using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues across frontend, backend, API, and database layers.
  • Read and understand existing code, including unfamiliar or undocumented code, before making changes.
  • Work with both legacy technologies such as ASP.NET Web Forms and WCF/SOAP and modern technologies such as ASP.NET Core and Dapper.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow coding and development standards.
  • Write unit/integration tests where applicable and help prevent regressions.
  • Use logging and debugging tools to identify and resolve application issues.
  • Work closely with senior engineers, QA, and product teams to understand requirements and deliver features.
  • Use Git or another version control system for source code management.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly for coding, debugging, documentation, and learning while reviewing and understanding the generated output.
  • Continuously learn new technologies and engineering practices.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong fundamentals in C# and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Oracle experience is preferred, but experience with any relational database is acceptable.
  • Basic understanding of web application architecture, including HTTP, REST APIs, and the client-server model.
  • Familiarity with Git or another version control system.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Ability to read and understand unfamiliar or undocumented code before making changes.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn both legacy and modern technologies.

Nice to have

Good to Have

  • Exposure to ASP.NET Core, including Web API, middleware, and dependency injection.
  • Exposure to ASP.NET Framework / Web Forms.
  • Exposure to React and TypeScript.
  • Basic understanding of Dapper or other lightweight data-access frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Redis, caching concepts, or JWT-based authentication.
  • Exposure to unit testing frameworks.
  • Exposure to manufacturing or ERP domains, such as SAP PP-PI, batch processing, process orders, BOMs, or production workflows.
